BEST COMBAT CAMERA COMPETITION : COPE

5/29/2023

Spc. Hilda I. Ortiz Clayton was a U.S. Army combat photographer who was killed in 2013 when a mortar exploded during an Afghan training exercise. She captured the explosion that killed her and four Afghan soldiers. She was assigned to the 55th Signal Company 21st Signal Brigade, Fort Meade, Maryland.
15 of the top combat camera teams from around the world gathered to compete in a series of challenges to see who was the best. The challenges included CrossFit, land navigation, fighting, ruck marching, marksmanship, information operations, water survival, technical and tactical skills, and video production.

Master Sgt. Corban Lundborg and SrA Stephen Pulter, took second place in the 2023 Hilda I. Clayton Best Combat Camera Competition, hosted by the Army's 55th Signal Company at Fort A.P Hill, Virginia.
The Hilda I. Clayton Best Combat Camera Competition tests combat camera specialists ability to capture both still and video imagery. Above are MSgt. Corban Lundborg's 12 best photos from the competition.
